FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TOURS

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 60 AND 155-METRE LEVELS?

At the 60-metre level, you go downstairs (both concrete and spiral) all the way and take a lift up. At the 155-metre level, you take a lift both down and up and the level is relatively flat with no stairs at all.

The guide’s story also differs as the mine has a lot of history to show and tell.

WHICH TOUR IS BEST SUITED for US?

The 60-metre tour, Experience the Mine on your own and the Great Mine Tour are suitable for those who want the feeling of a mining adventure and who have no problem moving around on stairs. For those who want a wow experience on a slightly smoother surface and without stairs, 155-metres is more suitable.

WHAT ARE THE AGE LIMITS/AGE RECOMMENDATIONS?

The different tours are adapted according to the recommended age limits and the experience is best for everyone in the family if these are followed. Children must be able to walk on their own up the stairs in the mine or be carried in a sling. Carrying a child in your arms is not allowed for safety reasons. Experience the mine on your own is recommended from 5 years old and the Great Mine Tour has a 10-year age limit.

BOOKING AND TICKETING ISSUES

HOW DO I BOOK A TOUR?

Tickets are booked via our website and paid for at the time of booking via our partner Swedbank Pay. If you have a gift certificate, a free ticket or similar, contact customer service to book. With a voucher, you can use the code directly when booking on our website. You can also contact customer service if you have difficulty completing your booking yourself and have questions and we will help you.

WHY IS THE PRICE DIFFERENT FOR WHAT YOU CALL OPEN VERSUS PRIVATE DEPARTURE?

On an open tour, you pay for an individual ticket and become part of a larger group. A so-called private tour means that you book the guide separately for you and your party, up to 10 people (an additional price can be paid if there are more than 10, but a maximum of 20). Unfortunately, we have no possibility to combine different private groups.

CAN TICKETS BE BOUGHT ON-SITE?

During our high season, which falls after midsummer and until the start of school, it is possible to buy tickets from our staff on-site. At other times of the year, tickets are purchased via the website, salasilvergruva.se

HOW DO I GET MY TICKET?

When you have booked and paid for your ticket, it will be sent as a text message and a confirmation with a link to the specified email address (please double-check that you enter the correct email address and telephone number). You can always find and manage your booking via “My page” which you can access from the website salasilvergruva.se, from your email confirmation or from the back of your SMS ticket.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE FOR MY TOUR?

The start is on time and unfortunately, we are not able to wait for you. We, therefore, recommend that you plan your trip well in advance so that you have some room in your schedule for a traffic jam or other unexpected obstacles on the road.

CAN I TAKE MY INFANT DOWN THE MINE?

Infants can be brought down into the mine as long as they are carried in a sling or baby carrier (we do not have space for prams). Make sure your child is dressed warmly.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE GET SICK CLOSE TO OUR VISIT?

If your departure is less than 24 hours away, the reservation is binding and cannot be changed or cancelled. It is possible to give your ticket to a friend or family member in your place. Earlier than 24 hours before the show, you can add, change, cancel and rebook via “My page” which can be accessed via the salasilvergruva.se website, from your email confirmation or from the back of your SMS ticket.

CAN I PAY BY INVOICE?

Invoices are issued only to companies, associations, etc. and then after the usual credit check.
